For beginners, this will provide a safe, fun way to learn while giving experienced sailors who might not have access to a boat the opportunity to enjoy an evening out on the water.
Thank you for the tremendous interest in our Women on the Water Program! We are working hard to prep our boats and build up our community so we can bring together as many sailors as possible! Registration is now closed. We will reach out shortly to those who have expressed interest. |

Nautical Navigation Series
Midcoast Sailing Center (a program of the Sail, Power, and Steam Museum) will host a classroom based Nautical Navigation series. Diane Sternberg, an educator, wilderness first responder, US Coast Guard licensed captain, and the Center’s Program Director will be teaching the classes.
“We’ve had quite a few people asking for foundational instruction for boating this summer,” said Sternberg. “This series of three classes (two evenings each) build upon each other. People can sign up for one or two or take the whole series.”
“Although most boaters rely on electronic equipment,” she added, “it’s important to understand the foundations of navigation for times when the electronics don’t work.”
Dates, times, and class descriptions are below and can also be found on our website: www.sailpowersteammuseum.org.
